The Eurostat Dissemination Database| can be explored via a navigation tree which is displayed and subdivided into several domains. (The database was formerly known as New Cronos|.)
The Eurostat Dissemination Database| covers up to four decades of observations, depending on series and the accession dates of EU member states. For some early data, it is necessary to complement the Dissemination Database with the New Cronos CD-rom|.

Data can be downloaded directly from the Eurostat Dissemination Database|.
TSV files may be imported into Excel by (1) Saving on hard disk with the suffix .tsv. This will be a zipped file, and (2) Unzipping and saving the table as Text (*.txt).
Users who wish to download more than 10,000 cells must register on the Eurostat site|.

Other European, EU and Eurozone statistical sources
The ECB Statistical Data Warehouse| provides a comprehensive range of Eurozone and broader international economic data. The ECB Inflation Dashboard| provides regional inflation and harmonised indices of consumer prices.
The ComExt database| provides data on merchandise trade among EU member states, and trade with global partners. ComExt is based on harmonised data from the national statistical agencies of the 27 member states.
The WIIW database| (Wiener Institut für Internationale Wirtschaftsvergleiche) provides statistical data on Central and Eastern Europe (EU and non-EU), a handbook of statistics, country profiles and transition indicators.
The Amadeus database| (Bureau van Dijk) provides financial and business information on 250,000 companies in 38 European countries, including standardised annual accounts (consolidated and unconsolidated), financial ratios, sectoral activities and ownership.
Datastream| (Thomson Reuters) can be used to integrate European (official and non-official) statistical observations with other international macroeconomic sources. Datastream is a financial and macroeconomic database, covering major instruments, company fundamentals, equities, fixed income securities and economic indicators for 177 countries and 60 markets worldwide. On 7 January 2010 Datastream was upgraded to Version 5.0|.
The EU Publications Office| provides a growing archive of official EEC/EU publications from 1950 onwards – including many annual statistical reports.
European Countries in Figures| annual overviews are available from the UN Economic Commission for Europe.
Eurobarometer surveys| consist of approx. 1000 face-to-face interviews per EU member state covering social conditions; health; culture; the economy; citizenship; security; information technology; the environment; the Euro and European Union enlargement.
The European Social Survey|, conducted by a consortium of six universities, covers social and public trust; political interest and participation; socio-political orientations, governance and efficacy; media use; moral, political and social values; social exclusion, national, ethnic and religious allegiances; well-being, health and security; demographics and socio-economic topics.
The European Values Study| is a large-scale, cross-national and longitudinal survey of basic attitudes, beliefs and human values of Europeans, issued by the the University of Cologne and Tilburg University.
EU-LFS| is a household sample survey conducted across the EU and three countries of EFTA, providing quarterly results on labour participation. Data ranges from 1983, depending on member state accession and other availablity factors. Surveys are conducted by European national statistical agencies and collated by Eurostat.
EU-SILC| is a cross-sectional and longitudinal multi-dimensional micro data set on income, poverty, social exclusion and living conditions in the European Union. Surveys are conducted by European national statistical agencies and collated by Eurostat.
