The eduLIFE project is pleased to announce that Dr. Jan Skopek and Dr. Moris Triventi have joined the internal team at the EUI, replacing Dr. Elina Kilpi-Jakonen and Dr. Daniela Vono de Vilhena as senior research scientists.

Dr. Skopek, previously the operational manager of the NEPS Data Center at the National Educational Panel Study in Bamberg, has a strong interest in modelling social processes from a life course perspective. His methodological interests relate to longitudinal methods of analyzing life course data and methods of online-research.

Dr. Triventi was previously a post-doc researcher at the University of Milano-Bicocca, where he studied social inequalities in higher education and in the transition to the labour market among European graduates, and contributed to the first and second phases of the eduLIFE project as an external collaborator. He is interested in social stratification, educational inequalities, higher education, and quantitative methods of data analysis.

Nonetheless, Dr. Kilpi-Jakonen and Dr. Vono de Vilhena will continue collaborating on the eduLIFE project. Dr. Kilpi-Jakonen has been awarded funding by the Academy of Finland, Culture and Society’s Research Council for a study on the transition of immigrants’ children into education and the workplace. Dr. Vono de Vilhena has joined the Secretariat of Population Europe, a research network hosted by the Max Plank Institute in Berlin dedicated to coordinating population research, and is the new Scientific Coordinator for FamiliesAndSocieties. We wish them all the best in their new endeavours.
