(A liberal criticism of Margaret Gilbert’s Actual Contract Theory and new proposal)
Communicative Action and Agreement to Disagree (I believe that agreement is not only possible, but also necessary and in any event it is the only way to construct meaning and value in our post-metaphysical world. On the other hand I believe philosophy is useless if divorced from practice, hence my current PhD thesis is a search for empirical confirmation of the deliberative democracy theory in the decision-making of the EU. Earlier, I intended to test the idea of participatory democracy as conductive to agreement among the stakeholders in administrative regulation, but had to abandon that project for the lack of funding.)
