Susanne Schührer

Susanne Schührer works as a research assistant at the "eduLIFE project" at European University Institute in Florence.

Within the project she analyses gender differences in labor market entry in the US.

Susanne studied Sociology at the University of Mannheim as an undergraduate with emphasis on methods of empirical research, social psychology and sociology of the labor market. Her bachelor thesis investigated the influence standardization and stratification of school systems on the labor market entry. 

From 2008 to 2011 she finished her master’s degree in Sociology and Social Empirical Research at the University of Cologne with focus on methods of empirical research and social psychology. In her master thesis she studied the effect of different forms of partnerships on life satisfaction from a longitudinal perspective.

Her PhD thesis deals with the the influence of noncognitive skills on school and labor market outcomes with regard to parental socio-economic background.  

Research Topics: Noncognitive skills, methods of empirical research, sociology of the labor market, sociology of education, positive psychology.
