Economics Books
The Books Collection is in the Main Library at the Badia Fiesolana|.
In the Economics Department (Villa San Paolo|) there is an Economics reference collection of 445 heavily used texts and manuals.
Books on Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Econometrics and Statistical Theory are located on the entry-level floor of the Main Library at the Badia Fiesolana. Consult the Catalogue| for location numbers and this map| for locations.
Economists may request books for delivery| from the Badia Library to the Villa San Paolo by completing this form|. Free-standing CD-roms and working papers may also be requested. Economists may order photocopies of individual articles – where not available online – by sending the title, author and issue number to econlibrary@eui.eu|.
Book delivery requests received before 11:00 are fulfilled each weekday. Requests received after 11:00 are fulfilled the following weekday. Deliveries arrive at the VSP Porter's Office at 13:00 each weekday. Books not collected within three working days are returned to the Badia Library.
The Economics Department Reference Library| is located on the ground floor of the Villa San Paolo, beside the elevator shaft. 445 course texts, software manuals, dictionaries and heavily-used monographs are available. Check the Catalogue for shelfmarks. These books can only be consulted in the Departmental workspaces. It is not permitted to take the books on overnight loan. All users should be familiar with the VSP Library Rules|.

New acquisitions in Economics and Statistical Theory are announced to all members of the Department in the Friday email Bulletin. Economists in the Max Weber Programme and the RSCAS also receive this notification. Other scholars who would like to receive the e-Bulletin, should send a request to econlibrary@eui.eu.
Cover photocopies of all new Economics books are displayed on the VSP acquisitions notice board each Friday. A list of recently purchased books is also available on the New Acquisitions| page. A list of new e-Books is available at this link|.
Economists are welcome to make suggestions| for Library acquisitions in any language. Duplicates of heavily-used texts may also be suggested. TAs and Professors are requested to signal new requirements before the beginning of each term. Requests for transfers of extra copies from the Badia Library to the VSP Reference Library should be sent to econlibrary@eui.eu|.

The number of e-Books in Economics and Statistical Theory is steadily increasing. This includes all books published by the OECD| since 1998, and a wide selection of Economics books from OUP's Oxford Scholarship Online|. These are individually catalogued. A list of new e-Books is available at this link|.
EconLit| (a component of WebSPIRS) is the most comprehensive electronic bibliography of economics literature, compiled by the AEA| since the 1960s. EconLit| contains abstracts, indexing and – in some cases – chapter-lists of edited works and monographs. EconLit is integrated with the 'Other EUI Resources' WebBridge| facility in the Catalogue.
The Social Sciences Citation Index| (a component of ISI Web of Knowledge|) allows users to search by cited references and – in many cases – to access the abstracts of articles cited in footnotes. Users of the Journals Citation Reports component may need to adjust their browser as follows: Tools > Internet Options > Privacy tab > Advanced > tick 'Override automatic cookie handling' and 'Always allow session cookies'. Then close all browser sessions and re-launch.
FirstSearch| provides full bibliographical records for academic works and – in many cases – chapter-lists of edited works.
Cadmus| is the EUI institutional publications' database, federated with the DSpace|. All Economists at the EUI (Professors, Researchers and Fellows) are requested to submit details of their books, edited books, articles and WPs to the Cadmus| database. From autumn 2009, EUI Economics output is included in the Economists Online| portal from the Nereus| Economics network.
Google Scholar| helps locate scholarly documents in PDF and HTML formats and is compatible with DSpace| and Cadmus|. Bibliographical references are EndNote compatible|.
