Economists may request books for delivery from the Badia Library to the Villa San Paolo by completing the VSP Book Delivery form . Books are issued for 30 days, renewable online (if not requested by another reader). Free-standing DVDs/CD-roms, older working papers, and photocopies of journal articles not online, may also be requested.
Books can be returned to the Badia Library via the white book-drop box outside the VSP Porter's Office.
Book delivery requests received before 11:00 on weekdays are fulfilled the same day. Requests received after 11:00 are fulfilled the next weekday. Books arrive at the VSP Porter's Office at 13:00.
Economists may order photocopies of articles not available online, by sending the title, author and issue number to econlibrary@eui.eu .
The Economics Department Reference Library is located on the ground floor of the Villa San Paolo, beside the elevator shaft. 455 course texts, software manuals, dictionaries and heavily-used monographs are available. Check the Catalogue for shelfmarks. These books can only be consulted in the Departmental workspaces (VSP and San Paolino). It is not permitted to keep books in workspaces or offices overnight. All users should be familiar with the VSP Library Rules .
– Readers must complete the Check-out / Check-in form for each book
– Books cannot be taken out of the VSP complex
– There are no overnight or weekend loans
– All books must be available at the VSP Library each morning
– Books used at the adjacent Villa San Paolino must be returned to the VSP book case each day
– These rules apply equally to Researchers, Fellows, Professors and TAs.
All new acquisitions in Economics and Statistical Theory are announced to members of the Department in a Friday email Bulletin. Economists in the Max Weber Programme and the RSCAS also receive the e-Bulletin. Scholars in other departments can send a signup request to econlibrary@eui.eu . The e-Bulletin is only delivered to eui.eu mail accounts.
Cover photocopies of all new Economics books are displayed on the Departmental Library notice board each Friday.
Economists are welcome to make suggestions for new acquisitions by sending details to econlibrary@eui.eu .
Books in any language may be suggested. TAs and Professors are requested to signal new requirements before the beginning of each term. Requests for transfers of extra copies from the Badia Library to the Departmental Library should be sent to econlibrary@eui.eu .
Before placing an interlibrary loan request, send the title to econlibrary@eui.eu so the book can be considered for acquisition.

The number of e-Books in Economics and Statistical Theory is steadily increasing, and now includes the Oxford Scholarship Online Economics collection from OUP; all books from the OECD since 1998 and a selection of e-Books on the EBL platform .
Lists of books may be exported from the Library Catalogue by using the 'Save Marked Records' and 'Export' functions.
EconLit is the most comprehensive online bibliography of economics literature. This global database provides abstracts, chapter lists of edited works and full bibliographical information.
Full-text e-Journal databases can be used to compile bibliographies and search for book reviews. Among the most important in Economics are: Science Direct , Springerlink , Ingenta , JSTOR , Sage and Wiley Online .
The Web of Science – a component of the Web of Knowledge – is an indexed database of scholarly literature with tools for bibliography-building, citation analysis and rankings' reports. View the 2011 upgrade video .
Google Scholar can be used to search for articles, working papers, reports and Economics blog content, and can be configured to access EUI subscription journals. Google Scholar Citatations was launched in November 2011.

RePEc (Research Papers in Economics) and Economists Online can be used for bibliography-building and locating the full texts of working papers, preprints and open access literature in Economics.
Cadmus is the EUI publications' database (institutional repository). All Economists at the EUI – Professors, Researchers and Fellows – are requested to submit details of works published during their time at the EUI to the Cadmus database. This includes articles, working papers, books and edited books. Where possible, full texts are included.
