A list of online journals in Economics is available at this link.

For older articles not available online, please consult the paper holdings on the lower (garden) floor of the Badia Library. To request a photocopy for delivery to the Economics Department, send volume number, year and page range to econlibrary@eui.eu.

Article Searching and Bibliography Building

EconLit is the most comprehensive bibliographical database of economics literature, compiled by the AEA since 1969. EconLit (a component of WebSPIRS)contains abstracts, indexing and chapter lists of edited works.

The Library maintains an extensive collection of Economics reference works, listed on this page.

Major international journal databases can be used for bibliography-building, eg: Ingenta, JSTOR, Springerlink, Science Direct (Elsevier) and Sage.

FirstSearch provides full bibliographical records of academic works and – in many cases – chapter lists of edited works.

The RePEc database of economic literature can be used for bibliography-building and locating full texts of working papers and preprints.

Cadmus is the EUI publications' database (institutional repository). All Economists at the EUI – Professors, Researchers and Fellows – are requested to submit details of works published during their time at the EUI to the Cadmus database. This includes articles, working papers, books and edited books. Where possible, full texts are included.

Since January 2010, details of EUI output in Economics, and full texts of working papers and some other publications, are included in the Economists Online portal from the Nereus Economics network.

Google Scholar helps locate scholarly documents in PDF and HTML formats and is compatible with Cadmus. Bibliographical references are EndNote compatible.

Article Citation Search

The Social Sciences Citation Index (a component of ISI Web of Knowledge) facilitates the searching of cited references and – in many cases – access to abstracts.

When using the Journals Citation Reports component it may be necessary to adjust the browser as follows: Tools > Internet Options > Privacy tab > Advanced > tick 'Override automatic cookie handling' and 'Always allow session cookies'.  Close browser and re-launch before using.

Departmental Article Delivery Service (VSP)

Photocopies of articles, and older working papers that are not available online, may be requested for delivery from the Badia Library to the Economics Department. Send volume number, year and page range to econlibrary@eui.eu. Please check the Catalogue before placing a request.

For articles not in the EUI collection, please use this form. (To request books via interlibrary loan, complete this separate form.)

Open Access Journals in Economics

The Directory of Open Access Journals (Lund) provides a comprehensive list of OA journals.

DOAJ includes sub-categories on Economics and Statistics.

Newspapers

The Economist, The Financial Times, the International Herald Tribune and La Reppublica are available on the shelf outside the VSP Departmental café.

The full text of The Economist is available via this Catalogue link.

Copies of The Financial Times, Il Sole 24 Ore and The Economist are also available at the Badia Library issue desk.
