The opening and the closing panels, and the six workshops will take place in two different buildings:

  1. Badia Fiesolana, Via dei Roccettini 9, 50014 San Domenico di Fiesole (FI)
  2. Villa Schifanoia, Via Giovanni Boccaccio 121, Firenze

Getting to Florence

Due to the anticipated high demand in June, we recommend securing a refundable travel booking as soon as possible. EUI is not liable for reimbursing the cost of travel or accommodation made by participants. 

 

  1. Florence Peretola (8 km from the city centre): information for travel to & from the airport can be found here;
  2. Pisa International Airport, or Galileo Galilei airport (85 km from Florence): information for travel to & from the airport can be found here;
  3. Guglielmo Marconi Bologna International Airport(105 km from the centre): information for travel to & from the airport can be found here.

You can reach Florence by train using either Trenitalia or Italo. Florence central station is Santa Maria Novella.

Getting to the venue

Departing from Santa Maria Novella train station:

If you need to reach Badia Fiesolana: take bus number 7 and get off at bus stop San Domenico 01 (map). Then, walk about 5 minutes until you reach the Badia (map).

If you have to go to Villa Schifanoia: take bus number 7 and get off at bus stop San Domenico 01 (map). Then, walk down about 400 meters (map).

Accommodation

  • Participants are responsible for their accommodation during their stay in Florence;
  • EUI is not liable for reimbursing the cost of travel or accommodation made by participants;
  • Your booking must be made directly with the hotels, and EUI cannot liaise on your behalf;
  • When booking your accommodation please consider that the event will start at lunch time on 17 of June and will end at lunch time on 21 of June.

The European University Institute is located in Fiesole, on the hills overlooking Florence. Therefore, we suggest to book your accommodation near bus route number 7 to facilitate transportation to the venues.
