Specific Terms and Conditions of Use

1. Compliance with EUI Library Copyright Policies

Users of this interactive section and of the material and information contained herein agree that their conduct and all content they submit and publish on such section shall comply with applicable copyright laws. In particular, users agree that their conduct and all the content they submit and publish shall comply with the rules and best practices embodied into the "Library Copyright Policies" document with regard to usage of licensed electronic resources.

2. User authority to submit, post or display content

Users confirm and guarantee that they have all necessary licenses, rights, consents, and permissions that are requested to enable the EUI to use their content submissions for the purposes of its Website and interactive sections.

3. License from users to the EUI

By submitting, posting or displaying the content in the EUI Website in conformity with paragraph 2, users grant the EUI a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license to reproduce, adapt, modify, translate, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute their content through this Website. These licensing terms and conditions apply to all user-generated content unless users specify and apply different terms and conditions of use in the specific pieces of content they submit and publish on the EUI Website.

4. Uploading of illegal content and activities

Users agree that they will not submit, post or display content which is illegal for them to possess in the country of their residence or content which would be illegal for the EUI to use, store, transmit, publish or display in connection with the functioning and management of its web-based services. Users must refrain from performing illegal activities, which include submission, publication and display of indecent, offensive or defamatory content and/or content that is subject to any third party proprietary rights, unless users have a formal license or authorization from the legitimate owner to post the content at issue.

5. User liability

Users understand and agree that they shall be solely responsible for their own content submissions and for the consequences of their postings and publications. The EUI does not endorse any user submission or any opinion, recommendation, or advice expressed therein, and expressly disclaims any and all liability related to content generated by users of its Website.

6. Indemnification

Users of this Website shall indemnify, defend and hold the EUI, its partners, officers, directors, agents, affiliates, licensors and their suppliers immune to and free from liability in any claims including claims for costs, losses, damages, judgments and expenses (including attorney fees) arising out of the use of this Website and, in particular, of its Interactive Sections.

7. Compliance with content requirements

The EUI reserves the right to decide whether user-generated content complies with the content requirements set out in these Terms and Conditions and may remove such content and/or terminate a user account for uploading any content which is in violation of these Terms at any time, without prior notice and at its sole discretion.

8. Infringement notifications

It is EUI policy to respond to notices of infringement of third parties' rights that comply with applicable laws by expeditiously removing unlawful content and terminating the account of repeat infringers.

Users can contact the EUI to file a copyright infringement notification and ask for the prompt removal of infringing content or to report abuse, harassment, inappropriate content, or privacy complaint. They can do so via email at [email protected]
