Professor Cremona has been a Professor in the Law Department since January 2006. Between 2009 and June 2012 she was Head of the Law Department and between June 2012 and August 2013 she was President ad interim of the EUI. She is a co-Director of the Academy of European Law and general editor (with Profs Loic Azoulai and Nehal Bhuta) of The Collected Courses of the Academy of European Law, Oxford University Press. Formerly Professor of European Commercial Law, Centre for Commercial Law Studies at Queen Mary University of London. Member of the Governing Board of the Istituto Affari Internazionali, Rome; member of the International Advisory Board of the Centre for European Research, University of Göteborg, Sweden; member of the Advisory Board of the European Foreign Affairs Review; member of the Editorial Board of the European Law Review.

Current Research Projects
Marise Cremona’s research interests are in the external relations law of the European Union; she is particularly interested in the constitutional basis for EU external relations law; the legal and institutional dimensions of the EU’s external commercial policy; the external dimension of the area of freedom, security and justice; the interaction between national, regional and international legal and policy regimes; and the export of values and norms in EU external policy. She has also recently been working on the external legal relations of ASEAN.
