Biographical Note

Dr. Giovanni B. Andornino is an Assistant Professor of International Relations of East Asia at the University of Torino, where he heads the TOChina Hub, coordinating research, advanced training and track 1.5 networking with China in partnership with ESCP Europe.

He is the Vice President of the Torino World Affairs Institute (T.wai) with responsibility over the Global China Program, and Editor of OrizzonteCina, Italy’s leading e-journal on current China affairs. Dr. Andornino is the Scientific Director of the ChinaMed Business Program at Peking University and a Visiting Professor at Beijing Foreign Studies University.

His most recent publications include a special issue of China & World Economy on “Eurasian Perspectives on China’s Belt and Road Initiative” (5/2017) and Italy’s encounters with modern China. Imperial dreams, strategic ambitions for Palgrave Macmillan (2015, co-edited with M. Marinelli).
