Sant Jordi & World Book Day

Since 2017, the EUI Library has embraced the Catalan tradition of celebrating Sant Jordi on 23 April with books and roses.

This day is not only Sant Jordi, but also UNESCO's World Book and Copyright Day

On this date in 1616 Cervantes, Shakespeare and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega died, and many other prominent authors were born or died, such as Maurice Druon, Haldor K.Laxness, Vladimir Nabokov, Josep Pla and Manuel Mejía Vallejo.

The EUI organised several events over the years, as YouTube video and blogpost recommendations on new books to read.
