Sant Jordi & World Book Day

Celebrations on 23 April 2020

This year we will not be able to celebrate as usual as the Library premises are closed, but do not miss our events online!

We will be broadcast for the first time ever on a web radio!
Listen to us at 13.00, 16.00 and 21.00 on radiocavolo.org - we mixed music and book recommendations and the result is called Books, cavoli and roses.

Our book recommendations will be shared throughout the day on our social media channels:

Since 2017, the EUI Library has embraced the Catalan tradition of celebrating Sant Jordi on 23 April with books and roses.

This day is not only Sant Jordi, but also UNESCO's World Book and Copyright Day

On this date in 1616 Cervantes, Shakespeare and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega died, and many other prominent authors were born or died, such as Maurice Druon, Haldor K.Laxness, Vladimir Nabokov, Josep Pla and Manuel Mejía Vallejo.

The EUI Library organised several events over the years as witnessed by our YouTube videos and blogpost recommendations on new books to read.
