Question:
Lockers in Working Spaces
Answer:

REPS' proposal: although lockers are meant to be used on a first-come-first-served basis, they have been monopolised, keys have been taken and previous attempts to change this seem to have failed. A proposal could be to connect, following the standard practice of other libraries and institutions, these lockers to a EUI card reader device that would allocate a locker after a researcher swipes their card. Then, they could open automatically  at 00:00 or when the said researcher swipes their card again.

REFS state that the suggested swiping system is very expensive, and currently there are no available funds. A suggested provision is a strong awareness campaign to be conducted by REPS, who will follow up with a proposal for notice/warning signs to be put on lockers.

Update of 10/9/2019: REFS is waiting for action from the REPS (drafting of a "soft" paper)
