Question:
My child has to do military/civilian service. Should I inform the HR Service?
Answer:

Yes, as with any change to your child's circumstances.

Notify the HR Service as quickly as possible by sending an end of studies declaration giving the start date of the civilian/military service.

For the duration of his/her military or civilian service your child will not be regarded as dependent and all the family allowances, and other benefits derived from them, paid in respect of that child will stop.

If he or she continues his/her studies beyond the age of 26 (provided the studies had already begun) entitlement to family allowances may be extended for a maximum period equal to that of the civilian or military service.
