If your child is receiving payment, the HR Service will first study the documents provided to determine whether your child can still be regarded as dependent.

If your child is still regarded as dependent, you will be entitled to the standard flat-rate education allowance for the duration of the traineeship (instead of the double rate) and amounts unduly paid will be recovered. Make sure that you submit your declaration as soon as possible to avoid large repayments. Make sure too that the start date and the end date of the traineeship are clearly set out.
