Background
In times of remote communication, traditional worries such as projecting your voice and using body language have to be reassessed, and integrated with the technological environment in which we find ourselves.
What You Will Learn
- How to speak when using a microphone.
- Where to look - into the camera, at the other participants in the meeting, or at myself?
- How to design and use visuals (PPT, Prezi, etc.) for maximum effect
- Interacting with your "desktop audience".
How this Course Works
These two 90-minute workshops help you gain confidence when presenting your academic work online. You will have an opportunity to practise the above-mentioned skills in a safe environment, and to engage in feedback conversations with peers (both giving and receiving feedback) and communication specialists.
In the first session, we will discuss and try out the essential skills for presenting your work online.
The group will reconvene after an interval of two weeks. In this second meeting, participants will put into practice the principles discussed in the first.
