The recent review of the European Central Bank’s monetary policy strategy – the first in 18 years – was launched with the ambition to ‘leave no stone unturned’, so as to make the ECB fit for the future, in a dramatically changed economic, societal, political and institutional context compared by 2003. Have the results lived up to this ambition? Is the new strategy a foundational document for a new ECB , or little more than a confirmation of the status quo of an ECB that had become of age? Gabriel Glöckler, Principal Communications Adviser at the ECB, who as one of the Workstream leaders for the Strategy Review was deeply involved in shaping the related ideas and policy discussions, shares his insights and assessments in this seminar.
