Antonio Varcellone's presentation will focus on how people, from the bottom up, arrange familial bonds which are still largely considered at the margins of the law (polygamy, polyamory, kinship of choice, mutual aid families etc.), to see how these ménages question some of the pillars of the notion of family in the western legal tradition, with specific reference to the institution of marriage. Relying on the notion of de facto familiar relationships , he will propose an inclusive legal approach to family and parenthood, giving a solution able to grasp and protect all familiar bonds, beyond gender, number, blood ties and sexualization of the relationship.Antonio Vercellone (PhD, Bocconi University) is a post-doctoral researcher in Private Law at the University of Turin. His presentation will be discussed by Tommaso Fia (Law, EUI). Please register on Events to get a seat in Sala del Camino, Villa Salviati.
