Professor Laure Quennouëlle-Corre (CNRS, Paris), will address the core methodological challenges when interviewing financial elites

This research seminar will discuss methodological challenges that interviews with senior bankers pose. It will focus in particular on issues emerging from the exploration of individual and institutional memories of financial crises, examining how senior financial actors understand and recollect previous financial crises, and how these shape their actions during the 2008 Global Financial Crisis. Drawing on her own research experience with French bankers and high civil servants, Professor Laure Quennouëlle-Corre will address the core methodological challenges that derive from interviewing financial elites. This will be followed by comments from discussants, before opening for wider discussion with all participants.

The project leading to this conference has received funding from the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme (grant agreement No 884910).
