Servicification is a core feature of the structural transformation of the economy associated with sustainable development, a process that is augmented by recent shifts towards digitalisation of economic activities. This workshop will discuss ongoing research to capture the process of structural transformation towards services in developing economies, to characterise and quantify trade policy in a digitalised economy and to consider alternative options for international regulatory cooperation to support trade in services and cross-border data flows.
