This conference co-organised by the EUI and the Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences aims to bring together scholars from various fields to study diplomacy and diplomatic activities in the early modern period.

Splendid Encounters is a series of international and interdisciplinary conferences. Its main aim is to bring together scholars from various fields to study diplomacy and diplomatic activities in the early modern period within the broadest possible framework. Beyond the Truth is the tenth edition and will focus on misinformation and credibility. Over the three days, the speakers will address the issues of fake news, trust, and rumours, as well as spaces, tools and methods of misinforming in global contexts from the early 1500 to 1800.
