By analysing de-risking strategies within voluntary carbon offset projects, we will discuss trade-offs between the much needed support in the ground for local forest dwellers and forest stewards under chaotic land grabbing and current displacement in places like Brazil and Indonesia Papua, and the consequences for de-risked investment in AFOLU projects for the voluntary carbon market.
