It will argue for the need to reassess Weber’s legacy in light of more vigorous disciplinary exchanges between quantitative economic history, the history of economic thought, and economic sociology. It will also showcase preliminary results of an ongoing project on the business history of early modern Tuscany that engages with Weber’s legacy and its scholarly (mis)appropriations.
