At a critical time between two crises, the Covid-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine, Stefano Scarpetta, Director of Employment, Labour and Social Affairs at the OECD will present the 2022 OECD Employment Outlook, addressing the challenges of the employment, wage and inequality dynamics examined in the report, and the required action for governments.

At this critical time between two crises, the School of Transnational Governnace welcomes Mr Stefano Scarpetta, Director of Employment, Labour and Social Affairs at the OECD, to present the 2022 OECD Employment Outlook launched on 9 September 2022.

In an engaging discussion, Scarpetta will outline the challenges of employment, wage decline and inequality dynamics examined in the report, and the required action and policy recommendations for governments. The conversation will centre around questions such as:

• What is the current job situation, in light of the Covid-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine?

• What is happening to real wages and purchasing power?

• What actions can governments take to tackle the cost-of-living crisis?

• Has the post-Covid recovery been sufficient in helping the young and the vulnerable?

• How can we build back more inclusive labour markets?

This a hybrid event open to both EUI community members and the general public. Please register to attend, indicating your attendance either online or in person (on a first come, first serve basis).
