In 2022 energy companies experienced substantial increases in the margin calls for their derivative positions due to the reduction in the supply of gas or by changes in their existing contracts. This led to two levels of stress: on the one hand energy companies experienced significant liquidity needs, while, on the other, central clearing also experienced tensions. In this webinar, Klaus Loeber (ESMA) and Alberto De Paoli (ENEL), will examine the governmental interventions put in place to support the energy market and the importance of rethinking the existing regulatory framework.
