The first part of the seminar is based on a recent report co-authored by Silindile Mlilo, African Leader Fellow at the EUI, on the adoption of the Free Movement of Persons protocol (FMP) by the members of the African Union. The second part of the seminar is dedicated to the presentation of an article by Philipp Lutz (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) and Diego Caballero Vélez (Centre of Migration Research at the University of Warsaw) that emphasises the benefits that states gain from refugee protection using a theory of public good.
