This event features a discussion with Oksana Bruy (Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute), moderated by Regina Grafe, EUI History Professor and Dean of External Relations.

Ukrainian librarians together with all Ukrainian people are bravely resisting the Russian aggression. Under these terrible conditions Ukrainian librarians are looking after their library funds and providing professional services where it is possible. Libraries continue to be the places of hope and shelters for everyone who needs it. Libraries are functioning as refugee reception centers and bomb shelters. They also organise classes in first aid, psychological counseling and bibliotherapy, provide courses in Ukrainian and other languages, as well as information literacy and digital skills.

The whole civilised world and the international librarian community support Ukraine and Ukrainian librarians in their fight for freedom and democracy, proving that the library community has no borders.

The event is open to all EUI community.
