'Per Peter'. An event to commemorate Professor Peter Hertner (1942-2023)

Peter Hertner was an assistant professor in the Department of History and Civilization at the EUI from 1981 to 1986, a full professor until 1988, and the Director of the Library of the EUI until 1995. He was subsequently a professor at the University of Halle (Germany). His research combined different topics and periods from the 16th- and 17th-century economic history of Strasbourg to Italian economic and banking history between the late 19th century and World War 2 and German direct investment in Italy, as well the history of multinational enterprises, and world electrification between the 19th and the 21st century.
