Yuliya Miadzvetskaya's article sheds light on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)-inspired nature of rules on international transfers of non-personal data introduced by the Data Governance Act. While this paper has identified a range of similarities between personal and non-personal data transfers regimes, it does not seem that they constitute sufficient grounds to qualify the GDPR mimesis as a new regulatory phenomenon. This paper argues that imitating the EU data protection acquis on definitional, substantive and institutional levels in recent data related legal frameworks contributes to legal certainty, consistency and ensures a more holistic approach to data regulation.
