The event will feature 10 papers from scholars based in Europe on topics relevant to the SAILS research theme, including papers that review international law’s turn to empiricism, the connections between international law journal publishing and the construction of institutional and social identities in the field, the place of the commentary in international law scholarship and practice, "transnational" law journals, the contributions of international law yearbooks, and the production of research intended for international law teaching and students, among others. The scholars will present their work for comments from designated discussants and the broader community.

SAILS: Study and Analysis of International and Comparative Law Scholarship is an interdisciplinary collaborative research project based at Georgetown University that brings together scholars from international and comparative law to study the relationship between international law scholarship and practice.
