Join Liesbet Hooghe, Gary Marks, and Jonne Kamphorst as they present new research on contemporary political divisions within Western societies.

During this conference, Professor Liesbet Hooghe, Professor Gary Marks, and Research Fellow Jonne Kamphorst from the Transnational project of the Global Governance Programme, will assemble a distinguished gathering of scholars. Together, they will present new research concerning the contemporary political divisions within Western societies.

The exploration of societal cleavages has seen a surge in interest and exploration in recent years, reflecting the ever-evolving landscape of global politics and making this an opportune moment to undertake a critical evaluation of this approach. Hence, this conference provides a unique platform for scholars to delve into the complexities of these cleavages, offering critical insights essential for understanding the challenges and dynamics of modern governance.

The project leading to this application has received funding from the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme (grant agreement No 885026).
