In this ADG ‘Cover to Cover’ book talk, historian Alessandro Giacone will discuss the collection of papers dedicated to French economic and philosopher Pierre Uri. Professor Giuliana Laschi will discuss.

Associated from the start with the Schuman Plan, Pierre Uri played an important role in the negotiation of the Treaty of Paris and then in its implementation at the European Coal and Steel Community. He contributed to the drafting of the Spaak report, and the negotiations of the Rome Treaties of 1957, which established the EEC and Euratom.

This volume, edited by Alessandro Giacone, Professor of History at the University of Bologna, is the published conference proceedings from the event dedicated to him on November 2021 on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of his birth.

Pierre Uri: La parcours d'un fondateur de l'Europe is available in open access.
