Inaugural workshop of the History Department

Incoming PhD researchers at the EUI Department of History are invited to join this year's inaugural workshop.

The inaugural workshop is a first chance to meet colleagues in the department and start talking about research. The two-day programme begins with an introductory session and social hour, followed by sessions in which first-year researchers and professors meet in panels to briefly present their research topics. The second day concludes with a workshop discussion on Historical Methodologies and Tools, followed by the Inaugural Lecture.

The Inaugural Lecture on Friday 26 September will be delivered by Professor Debjani Bhattacharyya (University of Zurich): 'Enclosing the Cyclone: New Approaches to the History of Climate from the Indian Ocean World'.

Please note that members of other researcher cohorts and visitors to the Department may also be present and take part in discussions, and are especially invited to the introductory session (Thursday morning) and Inaugural Lecture (Friday afternoon).
