For instance, despite the initial adoption of AI by companies with the anticipation of impartial decision-making, current research indicates that AI frequently displays biases learned from human data, consequently reinforcing gender inequalities. We will be joined by ACER’s HR Director, Silvia Manessi, who will delve into the complexities of defining and implementing effective gender balance and inclusion policies. She will explore these challenges from both theoretical and practical perspectives. Elena Pisanelli, PhD Candidate at the EUI, will present her thesis on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in hiring and their impact on gender inequality in the labour market.
