The EUI Finance, Innovation and Business Regulation Working Group and the Private Law Working Group organise a joint event featuring a discussion with Professors Deirdre Ahern (Trinity College Dublin; Visiting Fellow, EUI) and Jingchen Zhao (Nottingham Law School; Fernand Braudel Fellow, EUI).

This joint event will feature two paper presentations on the broad theme of Corporate Sustainability. As academic discussion in this field develops, new perspectives emerge regarding how sustainability should affect corporate conduct and what this might look like in practice. We are pleased to host presentations by two distinguished experts in this field.

Professor Deirdre Ahern will present the paper 'The EU Sustainability Reporting Ripple and What it Means for SMEs'. Professor Ahern's commercially focused research agenda engages with the societal and legal expectations of companies and their directors, including the ethical and regulatory challenges presented by globalisation and new technologies.

Professor Jingchen Zhao will present the paper 'Corporate Social Accountability'. Professor Zhao's current research concentrates on the legal aspects of regulating artificial intelligence in the boardroom, mandatory corporate social responsibility, law and finance, shareholders' rights and corporate governance.
