After discussing the opportunities and challenges of citizens’ assemblies, we are now tackling artificial intelligence and its impact on the development of democracy. The rapid progress of technology and artificial intelligence influences many areas of our lives. Democracy is certainly one of them. Various AI tools can be used to enhance the development of democracy, increase citizens’ engagement and improve democratic practices. At the same time, there are risks of potentially harmful impact of AI to democratic processes and numerous challenges that need to be faced. For this event, the members of the YEDF will engage in a lively one-on-one debate to explore both opportunities and challenges. Please register to watch the debate, listen to opposing views, reflect and share your opinions in a discussion afterwards. The event will be held in hybrid format but in presence participation is highly encouraged to enable better engagement. This event is organised by the Young EUI Democracy Forum (YEDF), an STG group that serves as a space for youth to engage with issues related to democracy worldwide by combining research, practice and open discussion.
