In the city of Florence, famous for its history and art with many female portraits painted on century-old walls and canvasses, the EUI Human Rights and Fundamental Working Group and International Law Working Group invite you to an imagined portrait gallery: Immi Tallgren's exhibition of 'Portraits of Women in International Law: New Names and Forgotten Faces'.Immi Tallgren will share how she brought together the selection of these women in international law in a book and what motivated her inspiring undertaking. Several authors will reveal their main observations and struggles when putting together their portraits of women in international law. Discussants will reflect in response and ask what message these women in international law leave us with today for our own intellectual journey, scholarship, and life. Through telling and reflecting on their stories, we want to bring light to portraits of women and gender-non-conforming people whose faces and names have been forgotten, erased, or are yet to be remembered in the collective histories of international law.
