The Indo-Pacific region has emerged as a critical arena in world politics. With its dynamic economies, strategic maritime routes, and complex security environment, the region holds significant importance for global actors, including Italy and Europe as a whole. The strategic shift towards the Indo-Pacific reflects a growing recognition of the region's centrality to international trade, security, and geopolitical stability. Italy and other European countries have formulated policies to engage more proactively with the Indo-Pacific and with its pivotal states, such as Japan and the Republic of Korea, navigating a complex landscape of opportunities, constraints, and risks. This event aims to explore these dynamics comprehensively. The workshop is funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the ITAsia+ project and will bring together leading scholars, diplomats, and military experts to discuss Italy's and Europe's strategic engagements in the Indo-Pacific.This research was conducted within the project "Prospettive della proiezione asiatica dell’Italia dopo il biennio 2023-2024 (ITAsia +) with the support of the Analysis, Planning, Statistics, and Historical Documentation Unit - Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, pursuant to Article 23-bis of Presidential Decree 18/1967.
