The Atlas of the New World project, a collaboration between Edoardo Delille and Giulia Piermartiri since 2019, visually merges current and future landscapes by projecting speculative images onto vulnerable regions including California, the Maldives, Mozambique, and the Mont Blanc massif. This artistic endeavour not only captures the environmental impact of climate breakdown but also the human cost, with a focus on migration as populations are displaced by rising sea levels, extreme weather, and resource scarcity. By blending art and science, Delille's interactive presentation will explore radical transformations forecasted on the world map due to climate change, highlighting how landscapes around the globe may evolve within the next few decades. It will encourage reflection on the future of the planet and the potential mass movement of people due to climate change. The interactive multimedia pesentation will be followed by aperitivo where guests can speak with the artists.
