The Annual Graduate Conference provides a unique opportunity for PhD students and early career researchers to discuss research-in-progress related to the history of European integration.

The Sixth Annual Graduate Conference on the History of European Integration provides a unique opportunity for selected PhD students and early career researchers to present their work, receive feedback, and engage with both peers and senior scholars on historiographical and methodological approaches to European integration.

Selected participants in the Conference will present their previously circulated papers for constructive feedback and discussion by senior academics. Panel discussions over both days will provide a forum for testing out and debating new ideas and research directions.

The Conference will also include sessions on professionalization and academic publishing.

Participation in the Conference is by invitation only. EUI members who wish to join the panel discussions may do so by writing to [email protected]

The 2025 Annual Graduate Conference is organised by the Alcide De Gasperi Research Centre with financial support from the EUI’s Widening Europe Programme, the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, the Florence School of Transnational Governance and the Historical Archives of the European Union.

The EUI Widening Europe Programme initiative, backed by contributions from the European Union and EUI Contracting States, is designed to strengthen internationalisation, competitiveness, and quality in research in widening countries, and thus foster a more cohesive European Higher Education and Research area.
