Seminar as part of the EUI Climate Workshop

The 29th Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), held from 11 to 22 November 2024, gathers representatives from nearly 200 countries in Azerbaijan with the aim to negotiate on critical issues such as climate finance, carbon markets and adaptation strategies for vulnerable communities. Known as "Finance COP", this conference addresses pressing issues, among others funding, the New Collective Quantified Goal (NCQG) and the Loss and Damage Fund.

Yet, the crucial question is: have these efforts moved the needle far enough?

Based on the fields of expertise of the panelists, this workshop will offer a stimulating debate on the key outcomes as well as on the next steps that will determine the future of global climate policy. Topics in the spotlight will include climate change governance, climate finance and carbon markets. In the last part of the workshop all participants will have the opportunity to contribute to the debate by asking questions or sharing their perspectives.
