As 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of China–EU diplomatic relations, this milestone offers a timely opportunity to reflect on past achievements and explore pathways for deeper legal cooperation amid growing global challenges. The international trade landscape is under increasing strain, especially in the context of escalating ‘reciprocal tariffs’ imposed by the US government.Against this backdrop, this academic roundtable brings together leading academic and legal experts to examine how China and the EU can reinforce their shared commitment to multilateralism and institutional development.Keynote speaker Professor Guohua Yang will present a draft statement on EU–China cooperation in the context of WTO reforms. This will be followed by presentations from Dr Jianguo Hu and Dr Bin Ye on trade and investment agreements, supply chain security, and the broader China–EU institutional framework. This event will be held under Chatham House rules. Attachments Bios Programme
