HUCAN final event

The HUCAN project celebrates its final event at Villa Salviati, sharing the main results and solutions of the project related to research, industry, and laws.

The two-day conference will mark the culmination of HUCAN’s research journey and provide an opportunity to share with the scientific and institutional community the project’s main results, focused on exploring certification requirements for solutions based on artificial intelligence and advanced automation in the aviation sector. The programme will feature contributions from representatives of EUI, Deep Blue, EASA, NLR, Thales, CIRA, Airbus, TXT, and other European projects committed to innovation and safety. Key topics will include:

• The evolution of the certification landscape for advanced automation systems
• HUCAN’s journey from concept to operational solutions
• European initiatives on standardisation and compliance for AI in aviation
• The role of certification-aware design and preliminary certification guidelines

The second day will also feature a roundtable bringing together experts from several European projects (EASA-MLEP, Engage 2, Accomplish) to discuss the future prospects of artificial intelligence in air transport. The event will conclude with a summary and reflection session on the results achieved and the future development paths, fostering dialogue between research, industry, and regulators.
