Join the Centre for a Digital Society team for an in-depth presentation of their latest report, offering a critical analysis of the impact of EU digital regulations over the past decade.

As the European Union enters its next five-year legislative and institutional term, improving productivity has become a top priority. Regulatory simplification, long a subject of debate, is now receiving the attention it deserves. The Draghi Report has set the tone for this renewed focus, while the Letta Report has further underscored the need for regulatory simplification. With these reports guiding the debate, this event will present a new report that critically examines the impact of EU digital regulations over the past decade.

The discussion will explore the positive and negative outcomes of significant digital-related EU laws, evaluating their effects on the digital economy. It will also assess the potential impact of recently introduced measures, for which empirical data is not yet available. Additionally, the talk will review the effectiveness of EU-level initiatives aimed at reducing regulatory burdens and consider further actions that could be taken at both the EU and Member State levels to mitigate these challenges.

This analysis is designed to inform policymakers, stakeholders, and researchers about the evolution of EU digital legislation and to foster an informed discussion on how to enhance competitiveness and innovation in the digital space.
