EUI President Patrizia Nanz will open the event. Mayor Sara Funaro will discuss Florence’s identity as a city of peace. Professor Trine Flockhart, Chair of Security at the EUI, will introduce a Q&A session with participants. The EUI initiative underscores the significance of regions and cities in shaping Europe’s strategic direction and contributes to decentralising discussions on peace and security. Kata Tütto, President of the European Committee of the Regions (CoR), will also join the event.The event will also be livestreamed; more information will follow soon. Participants are invited for a coffee break after the event, during which EUI researchers will showcase their work in 'research corners' set up around the Badia cloister.
