This event will explore law as an interdisciplinary object. The exciting convergence of law, history, and political theory (not to mention anthropology and political economy) has led to renewed scrutiny of the methodological, practical, and conceptual specificity of law. As new insights and analytical openings emerge, so too do tensions and misunderstandings. With a particular emphasis on questions of context and temporality, this event will highlight some of the methodological fault lines of interdisciplinary work on law and workshop some conceptual resources for producing rich and nuanced scholarship.
