In this event, Professor Stone and Dr. Cino Pagliarello will discuss their upcoming paper, 'Beyond Boundaries: The Role of Informal Diplomacy in Shaping Global Public Policy,' which examines the increasingly blurred boundaries between public policy and diplomacy, focusing on the role of informal and non-state actors—such as NGOs, multinational corporations, and cultural institutions—in shaping global governance. The paper will integrate perspectives from both public policy studies and diplomatic theory to analyse how informal diplomacy leverages soft power, policy networks, and digital diplomacy to affect policy outcomes at national and global levels.
