The past nineteen months have seen crackdowns on Palestine solidarity activism at universities around the globe, highlighting growing restrictions on academic freedom and dissent. In the US, students and faculty face disciplinary measures, 'doxxing', and police violence for protesting the ongoing genocide in Gaza. German universities have banned Palestine solidarity events under antisemitism accusations, instrumentalising Erinnerungskultur (Culture of Remembrance) to suppress criticism of Israel. In Palestine itself, Israeli institutions systematically marginalise Palestinian scholars and censor discussions on the Nakba and occupation. This event brings together scholars, university activists, and legal practitioners from around the world to examine these repressive trends and to consider which strategies we have to fight them.
