Rather than a transition from one stable order to the next, the current crisis of global order seems to be signalling war without end. Both the war on Gaza and the invasion of Ukraine continue to intensify, and countries like Sudan and Yemen have turned into battlegrounds for global geopolitical and financial interests. Meanwhile, the war on migrants rages on at the EU’s borders. In this critical conjuncture, the governments of the EU are pushing for mass rearmament; how to critically evaluate the political economy and ideological content of this militarisation of Europe? What are alternatives, and how do we turn these into political programmes? In this event, political theorist Sandro Mezzadra will situate the proliferation of warfare in a broader global regime of war, where dynamics of capital accumulation and multipolar hegemonic ordering produce the conditions for war without end.The Zoom link will be sent upon registration.
