This masterclass aims to facilitate a discussion with academics about their own research and how they can mobilise sovereignty, sovereignty regimes, and system sovereignty, as discussed in 'Shifting sovereignties by Professor Moritz Mihatsch (University of Cambridge).
The session is starting from the belief that a good book should not aim to be the last word on a topic, but rather inspire others to ask interesting questions related to their own expertise. To make full use of the session, fellows should think about in advance, in which ways sovereignty as a concept is relevant to their research, which conceptions of sovereignty they have found particularly helpful, and/or in which ways they have struggled with the unwieldiness of the concept.
