Executive Vice-President for a Clean, Just and Competitive Transition of the European Commission Teresa Ribera, will deliver the fourth Distinguished Giorgio La Pira lecture at the Florence School of Transnational Governance.
The Florence School of Transnational Governance is delighted to welcome Executive Vice-President Ribera, who will deliver a keynote address. The event will be opened by EUI Provost for Research and External Relations Giacomo Calzolari and STG Executive Director Fabrizio Tassinari.
Alongside to Executive Vice-President's intervention, the programme will feature a panel discussion with members of the Florence School of Transnational Governance, and welcome questions from the broader EUI community and the public.
The event marks the fourth instalment of the Giorgio La Pira Lecture, following the previous editions with Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, former Italian Prime Minister and former European Commission President Romano Prodi, and the intervention of Sir Mohammed Ibrahim.
Organised in partnership with Fondazione CR Firenze, the lecture aims to build bridges between Europe and other continents. It is named after Giorgio La Pira, the visionary mayor of Florence and tireless advocate for peace, social justice, and dialogue among civilisations.
The event will be held in the Elinor Ostrom room at Palazzo Buontalenti, the premises of the Florence School of Transnational Governance. All are welcome to attend. Registrations are now open.
